So I wonder what you expected to find here.

Is that who you're looking for?

Well, you're not alone!

Seems to be quite a common pastime for us humans

- looking for ourselves!

Who do you see when you look in the mirror?

Go on...try it!

...and once you've got past the checking out your hair or your wrinkles or your amazing good looks...what else do you see?

Who are you?

What's important to you?

What makes you laugh, what makes you cry?

What makes you burn brightly?

What do you really want from your life?

and now...take a few moments to be quiet and look inside

What did you discover about yourself?

Maybe that's why you clicked on 'About You'

"The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are"

Joseph Campbell

"Whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it
..... boldness has genius, power and magic in it"

Goethe - Poet, novelist, philosopher (1749-1832)

Your 2008 in 50 words

In my December 2008 newsletter I invited you to tell the story of your 2008 in 50 words

- here's what you wrote!

Thank you.

Here is my 2008 short story

Anchors away at a personal and a professional level, choppy seas have tossed me around; sometimes it’s been scary but – frankly – often it’s been exhilarating. The great news is I’ve found my ship is sound and that with a talented and generous team anything is possible!

Hilary Gander

Work and domestic life seem relentless. Suddenly you realise your children are developing under your nose. Abruptly you realise one is an independent, strong-minded person. A proper woman. With real talent. Such joy makes the toil worthwhile. The worry – is the world she is inheriting worth all her hard work?

Gerry Hahlo

A short story...

A thin blue line, a lot of throwing up, then lots more throwing up - thank God I work from home.  A stork that arrived too early with a very small package, no sleep, sore boobs and lots of poop!  There's no greater adventure than having children!

Pori Cinquini-Steele

As for 2008 in fifty words here goes.

Slim, fit, focused and energized. Injury, sloth, weight and apathy. A mountain climbed only to realize it was the wrong one but from its height I could see the right one, just there, just out of reach but ready for the taking. Fat, focused, energized and optimistic, roll on 2009.

Mike Ames

Nice one Tony, made me think!!!

2008 - where did it go?

Pace fast, results show.

Impacted lives for sure -  I know,

Was happy to help a loving sister

Who spent the year without her mister

Worked hard and really saved the day

Rescued my business gone astray!

Make more time for me in 2009

and maybe I'll find my valentine!

Carol Melrose

Margo’s 2008

A few more months not working than being employed; more connection than not; increased uncertainty and feeling unsettled.  It seemed harder to believe in dreams.  Next year’s turnaround will see more positivity:  being solid and grounded, proactive, peace and harmony, opening of the heart, and creativity for THRIVING.

Great challenge, my friend.  Love and best wishes for a Brilliant 2009.

Out of the fug of motherhood, leaving behind the world of blue chip certainty, I stand on the crest of an exhilarating but uncertain future.  Which leads/ alliances are going to take off, nobody knows.  Building my network, helping others and gaining clarity over my vision, I prepare for 2009.

Thanks to everyone who wrote their story of 2008 - I wonder what your story of 2009 is going to be - maybe you should write it before it happens!!
